Here’s Your UTSB Halftime Highlight Roundup

What an electric first half! The Chiefs and 49ers are tied, 10-10, after 30 minutes filled with huge plays and major moments. In case you missed anything, here are the highlights.

Your eyes have not deceived you: Fox has a new score bug for the Super Bowl. “I was initially disarmed by the fact that it’s in the center of the screen, but after watching most of the first half I got used to it,” said Dan McQuade, who helpfully put together a wonderful screencap. “Like the rest of the Fox graphics package, it’s pretty and clean.”

Down 3-0, the Chiefs kept their drive alive with a fourth-down conversion where running back Damien Williams took a direct snap and gained four yards. Patrick Redford captured the essence of that moment:

San Francisco’s second drive of the game ended abruptly when quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo threw an interception to Bashaud Breeland while being hit by Chiefs lineman Mike Pennel. Chris Thompson has you covered:

With 5:05 left in the second quarter, Jimmy Garoppolo threw a pass to fullback Kyle Juszczyk, who rumbled and dove into the end zone for the Niners’ first touchdown of the game. Here’s that play, courtesy of Tom Ley:
